Jacob Hansen. Curiosity to obsession
Out in the Spring woods in a family cabin, my siblings and I gifted our mother a small camera 15 years ago, but there was a change of plans. Out of curiosity, I repeatedly asked for the camera to take images of the family gathering (it was a compelling reason to play with the new gadget). After seeing some images I was proud of, like a flashing grin from the family member who never smiles, I repeatedly wandered outside to photograph the bugs and plants too. With excitement, I would show off the images to the busy adults, receive a "Wooow!", and sprint away trying to take even more unique photos never knowing what would happen later.
I never knew that trying to capture unique photos would lead me to photograph senior photos in High School, weddings, family portraits, sports events, graduations, and meeting innumerable people from all around the world. This is my obsession; photographing the unique moments of any occasion, resulting in cherished significance to someone.
